you might want to draft a shorter news post informing people hosting repos that they need to find alternative arrangments, with a link to that post (minus the sid param :))

(console news)

a short ramble post wouldn't hurt, either.
eyedeekay
Yeah good ideas both, I'll start with ramble
zzz
great, sounds like you're rapidly making decisions
eyedeekay
Getting 500 when I try to post on Ramble doc
zzz
maybe a prominent note on the gitlab login page
eyedeekay
Good idea too zzz, I'll add it where I put the "alternate URL" notice
zzz
a month might be a little short notice but OTOH this is git, so everybody has their files locally already. just not the issues and MRs and CI
zzz
you may also wish to set a firm date; 'in the next month' is a pretty big window. A set date may help motivate ppl
eyedeekay
Hm yeah I should maybe clarify the timeline server-by-server, I want to have gitea up in a month and gitlab down a month after that, so there would be a month of overlap time
eyedeekay
I'll nail that down with specifics
eyedeekay
Feb 16 to March 16 should be good for the overlap time
zzz
dunno if there's any ambiguity in "I2P dev team" or if there's any exemption process for 'friends of dev team' but you might want to let people appeal or ask somehow

Updated
eyedeekay
Fixed some typos...
zzz
thx. I posted link on my forum
dr|z3d
check the main page after the post, it will very occasionally error 500 but process your post anyway.
eyedeekay
Crap I posted it 4 times looks like
dr|z3d
lol
eyedeekay
All right that's better...
eyedeekay
Just gotta update the text...
dr|z3d
feel free to flair it as you see fit, if you're into that sort of thing :)
zzz
the timeline should work out, being nicely in-between release dates
