lance074 Hello everyone, I'm trying to make IPFS work over I2P by adding a libp2p i2p transport and i was able to make the ipfs-lite implementation work with 3 nodes, one for bootstrapping the DHT, one that serve a file and one to download the file. For the transport i updated this: github.com/Jorropo/go-libp2p-i2p-transport to the latest libp2p version.
lance074 Now i'd like to test it with more nodes for it to be more realistic and i was wondering if it make sense to test on a single i2p router or should i start a router for each node?
lance074 I don't know much yet about the i2p or libp2p inner working, is there something i should know or consider regarding what i'm doing?
dr|z3d hi lance074. if you can run a router per node, that will give you a better idea of how it runs on the network proper.
orignal IPFS is a bad idea in general
lance074 why it's a bad idea? you mean on i2p or in general?
orignal in general
orignal IPFS is dead
lance074 Well maybe it's not used that much but i think that's because on the clearnet there are more convenient ways of distributing static files like CDNs, wouldn't be useful to have someting like IPFS in i2p? maybe embedded in the router for helping with the distribution of static files of the visited eepsites?
lance074 For bigger stuff torrent is better but you can't really use that to distribute the content of a website
dr|z3d build it, they will come, lance074 :)
